Working from home? Dress up, don’t dress down!!

Ok. So the scene seems conveniently set.

You got responsibilities at home, so can’t go out to work long hours or are simply done with the 9 to 6 mundane routine of corporate jobs.

There is nothing more befitting & gratifying than working on your own terms; being your own boss. But then, this luxury of flexi timing and doing things as per your terms should not rob you off the joys of feeling fresh and ‘rearing to go’ in the morning every day.

So basically, running a business, freelancing or working from home is all OK but doing it in your shabbiest of pyjamas with oily, unclean face is so very NOT!!

If you wouldn’t go to office with unkempt hair or that oversized, faded t-shirt, please don’t remain in them while working out of the home as well.

It’s well researched and documented that appropriate attire, shoes & surroundings increase the productivity manifold for people working from home.

We got some tips which you can implement while ‘working from home’ set up.

Designate one particular “cheerful” place

A small desk & chair near the window or good old dining table - arrange it like your regular office desk. Put some stationary, a glass of water, arrange some fresh flowers and of ‘course your lap top or other working gadget.

Your work station is all set!

Get out of those night clothes please

No excuses for remaining and start working in night clothes or in attire inappropriate for any official environment. If not a formal trouser, we give you liberty to wear comfortable jeans (it’s ok even if they are lil out of fashion) or a fitted kurta and leggings.
Trust us, you will feel more energized and would concentrate better.

Time to do some grooming

Though we don’t doubt your hygiene routine but please follow the following. Shower. Comb your hair. Put on a light lipstick or lip balm.

Complimentary Tip: Utilise sitting for long hours during work & indulge in some time consuming beauty routines like put on that face pack, hair mask or coloring your hair

Don’t sit barefoot

This one may sound way too exaggerated but if you can, wear some nice shoes as well. It surely will give you a confidence boost and sense of professionalism.
